Flood Sanitisation — what the work involves
Sanitisation is planned around the water source, affected surfaces and products appropriate to the materials. Physical cleaning comes first; any disinfectant application follows product requirements and is combined with drying and removal of unsuitable porous materials where needed.

Is sanitisation the first step after flooding?
Bulk water, debris and soil normally need to be removed first so surfaces can be properly cleaned.
Can one product be used on every surface?
No. Product suitability depends on the material and contamination; the treatment must follow its instructions.
Does spraying replace wiping and cleaning?
No. Disinfectant application is not a substitute for physically removing deposits and soil.
Can saturated porous materials be sanitised in place?
Some porous materials cannot be reliably restored after contamination and may need removal.
Does sanitisation also dry the room?
No. Residual moisture in walls, floors and contents needs its own assessment and drying plan.
Does the room become sterile?
Restoration cleaning is not a guarantee of sterility. The agreed scope addresses the assessed flood contamination.
What affects the cost of flood sanitisation?
Surface area, soil levels, contamination, material compatibility and access affect sanitisation costs.
